Review; Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation

I kept seeing this foundation everywhere! People were raving about it on their blogs, Facebook and Instagram! So when Big W had it on sale for $8 I knew I had to pick it up! And I'm glad I did.

For my new readers, I have oily skin! And I'm usually the second lightest shade in foundations! I usually go for a medium coverage that is build able. And I was quite scared to try a full coverage foundation!
Rimmel Lasting finish was made for dry skin girls, because the formula is quite hydrating. BUT that doesn't mean us oily skin girls can't make it work!
This foundation comes in 8 shades; Light porcelain, ivory, true ivory, true nude, natural beige, true beige, light nude and soft beige. I think there is a great variety of shades! You'll find that between the 8 shades there is a mixture of cool, warm and neutral tones! So it's super easy to find your perfect colour if you know what tone you are! I have light skin and I'm neutral toned, slightly on the yellow side and "true ivory" is absolutely perfect!

As for packaging, I was super excited when I took off the lid to see a pump! Seriously I love my pumps! And it isn't one that shoots out wayy too much product! 2 pumps usually covers my whole face! But I like to do 3 for a nice full coverage! It is a 30ml glass bottle, Once the lid is on it is quite tall; which makes the bottle look less "drugstore".
Now the part that matters, how does it wear on my oily skin? Well for a foundation that’s packed with moisture, it wears pretty damn well! I usually have to touch up with powder 4-5 hours after applying, Only because my nose gets super oily. And because of this it can separate. I wouldn’t recommend wearing this if you think you'll be sweating a lot or spending time in the sun. I'm saving this foundation for cooler weather, shopping or when I know I won't be rushing around! But I'm still pretty impressed. Rimmel recommend their stay matte foundation to oily girls. And I think that foundation is absolutely terrible! So that shows that even though a product is meant for a different skin type, it's a good idea to test it out for your self!

As for the perfect pairs, I think this foundation works better with a beauty blender! I us my Real techniques sponge with it and it works beautifully! I found brushes just move the product around too much! I've been pairing this foundation with the Becca Resurfacing primer (review here), This primer fills in pores and lines; it creates a lovely smooth surface for this full coverage foundation!
To sum this review up, I think I'll always need to have a bottle of this foundation and I'll definitely be repurchasing it! You will find this product at any Rimmel stockist for $18.95AUD!
Have you tried this foundation? xx
