Garnier Oil-free BB cream review!

Thursday, July 28, 2016

 Beauty balm, Most commonly known as BB cream is an all in one Cosmetic product to replace serum, moisturiser, primer, foundation and Sunscreen! It’s the perfect product to wear when you're in a rush and only have 5 mins to slap on a face!

I have oily skin and have always been a little afraid to touch a BB cream because they're quite "hydrating". But when I seen that Garnier made one for oily to combination skin, I thought "why not?".

Claims; "The daily All-in-one solution corrects, protects, unifies, hydrates and mattifies in one application with instant and lasting results. It effectively minimises the appearance of pores and imperfections for a visible improvement in skin texture. It's light weight and comfortable texture with an optimal coverage blends perfectly into the skin without the heaviness of a foundation."

This BB cream comes in two shades, Light and medium. I have Light and it is quite yellow, I have neutral undertones and surprisingly the colour adapted to my skin tone and matched beautifully. Unfortunately this product would not be suitable for deeper and lighter skin tones!

You can pick this up from most supermarkets and chemists for $15.99AUD!

Here are my thoughts;

The first few days of using the Garnier oil free BB cream were great! I wasn't getting very oily at all, It covered imperfections beautifully all day long.
Unfortunately after a weeks use that changed. This product made me break out quite a lot, I removed all product at the end of the day and used a cleanser but unfortunately it didn't help! It started to settle into ALL fine lines and pores.

Here's how it looked through out the day;
Before application. Visible Breakouts are from THIS BB cream.

Straight after application

As you can see, it didn’t last very long before it broke apart on my nose and went VERY oily. All I did in those four hours was visit a family member and had lunch, I didn’t break a sweat at all! After I took this picture I attempted to touch up with powder, Which was a bad idea because it just looked very cakey!
If you are extremely oily skinned I do not recommend this product at all! However if you get a little oily on the T zone it should be right for a few hours wear. I'll still wear this product, But ONLY if I'm only going to be out for an hour or so! Definitely not for all day wear and I couldn't imagine how this product would work in the summer time!

Have you tried this product? Did you see better results? x
